Aurora

Aurora Aksnes was born on 15 June 1996 in Stavanger Norway. Professionally known as Aurora and sometimes stylized with the letters in uppercase like AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves by Decca Records was released on May 15th, 2015 and received great reviews from both music bloggers and the media. The artist has already released two top-of-the-line covers Half the World Away by the group Oasis in a commercial for Christmas from John Lewis and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole. Katy Perry posted a video where she was announcing her endorsement of Runaway. The endorsement earned her some recognition. Make it a special day for her. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was finding a keyboard in her loft and being amazed by the music. Her parents May-Britt and Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to pursue music not as a career or hobby but for growth. The singer began to write her own songs. She credits renowned composers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan as influences as well as an appreciation for the style of Bjork. She began performing her songs publicly when her mom suggested they could help people not gain acclaim for her music, but rather to help people see around them realize the importance of their work and how they could impact the world. She began playing the piano as her primary instrument, at six. She started creating music after turning nine. It wasn't until her 14th birthday that she told her parents. Aurora wasn't a dream. Aurora is simply a writer who loves writing songs. Music to her is the best way to feel anything.
